Preslee is now one and a half and boy does she act like she's sailing into her teens with an attitude! Oh but how do we love her! Updates on height and weight on Friday when we go to the doc for shots.
Here are some favorites..
Foods: yogurt, cheese, cheese and more cheese!, pureed fruit, milk, and anything sweet!
She loves Elmo and Eebee, if anyone has any idea who that is. (you're not missing much) Her favorite activities are reading books, playing outside no matter the weather, and climbing on anything and everything. She absolutley loves Goodnight Moon and would read it again and again if you are willing. Bath time is a must, twice a day and she will not sleep with anything but her huge pink hippo (pearl) and her blankie, well her Auntie's baby blankie.
She says many things, not much that I understand. A few words she uses regularly are love you (hiyou) mama(me), mama(grandma), cheese(eesh), ball(bahbah!), and dada.
She signs "please", "all done", "help", and "more." Overall she is very good at getting her point across with signs and hand gestures. I guess she has no need for too many words just yet.
Preslee has a very sweet personality, with a few tantrums, slaps, screams, and disrespectful "MOM'S!!" thrown in. However, her hugs around the neck with her cheek pressed to mine are to die for. I live for the wet tongue kisses and "ma ma's," no matter the tone. Pretty much, I would do anything for my sweet little baby. Happy half birthday, my love!

More bananas please!
Bananas, applesauce, pears, oh my! Oh how I miss her being teeny tiny. She's growing up fast right before my eyes. She's 6 months, sitting on her own, and about to crawl any day now. Please don't grow up to be a teenager...please stay your sweet little precious self. I love you, Preslee.

Preslee's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
I tricked my mom into going with me to get Preslee's ears pierced, something I didn't want to do alone. I was debating whether or not to pierce her perfect little ears, but decided to just do it. She will never remember the pain...awful I know. She screamed bloody murder after the first ear, and I almost cried, and didn't want her to go through the most horrible pain of her life (next to me dropping a bottle on her head) again with her other ear. They have to pierce them separately since babies jerk their heads so easily. She screamed after the first and then almost fell asleep (she was so tired before we started). Then, we pierced the other one, and she screamed even harder and everyone at the mall looked at me like I was crazy stupid.
Preslee will thank me when she's older because she won't remember the pain, and they will already be pierced! ;) She's so beautiful!

Strawberry Shortcake
This year was Preslee's first Halloween. She makes a darling strawberry with an oversized hat. She didn't even make a peep while held at gunpoint by Captain Jack Sparrow! We went to our church party and soon left after discovering we were the only pirates there, and joined G-ma and G-pa at their church party, which was much more exciting! Preslee attempted her first giggle when her nana played patty cake with her....a sound that will melt your heart, however, Mom and Dad can't get her to replicate it...only nana. Mom and Dad just make stupid sounds until we are all out of energy while Preslee only cracks a smile, something she is very good at. She is beginning to make a whiny sound that will surely drive you crazy after about two minutes. She must have received some sort of attention from making it at one time, and now she won't give it up. I have a whiner on my hands. A girl with a temper... AND we thought she was going to be a sweetheart. Well...she is. Just a sweatheart with a strong personality, and she's only 3 1/2 months old! We love her!

Cabin Time
This past weekend, we went to the McQuivey's Cabin. It was such a nice, relaxing weekend. Macy was my greatest little babysitter! We made super cute witch hats for halloween, and ALL of us who used the yellow hot glue gun burned our fingers! You'd think that after one of us did it, we would be more careful, but no, we all worked on our hats until we burned our fingers, which then meant, we were done.

I Love Being a Mommy...
Here's the last post for the day and then we should be caught up on pictures and her short little life up until now. She's 2 in a half months now, and I can't believe how time flies. I had to put away her newborn clothes that don't fit anymore, and they are still brand new! It's amazing to be a mother. Such a rewarding job...some days are really hard and other's just sort of hard. I can't believe the amount of love you can have for a little one. I would do anything for her. She weighs 10 lbs 8 oz. now and is 23 inches long. She is into her 3 month clothes now because she is long enough, but she's so skinny that they are a little baggy on her. She's a doll in anything.
I've learned a lot in the past couple of weeks. I've learned that you can't control everything. I am a control freak and I want everything to be perfect. I want to make sure Preslee grows up to be exactly how I want her be....but we all now that won't happen. Nursing has been a difficult road for me, but it is something that I have felt strongly to continue, despite the Mastitis, the screaming from her at me because she has a hard time latching on, the blood in her diapers..etc. She is very healthy, but the blood has thrown me for a loop. Today we are going to try a partially digested protein formula to try and let her bowels heal, eventhough I am so scared she will LOVE formula and a bottle and give up on me with nursing. We are going to try it for a week, see if the blood stops, then go back to nursing. Keep your fingers crossed. As for controlling everything, I have to learn what is best for Preslee, not what is best for me.
Professional Pictures
So far my entire blog is about Preslee, but that is because she is my whole world right now. It's just her and I all day while daddy works his butt off in school. He got a 97% on his first Chemistry test. Whoot Whoot! He's my smarty pants who is going to be a CRNA in a few years. While he's gone at school and work, Preslee and I do photoshoots. Hehe. She's too much fun to take pictures of. Here are a few professional pics that Stevie Croft did of her when she was 4 weeks old.
